Entries are now being taken for both the one international and three domestic Qualifying events for the 2013 Volvo China Open.  As previously, the three leading scores from each event will qualify for the Volvo China Open at Binhai Lake GC on May 2nd– 5th.

The events kick off with South China Qualifying at Lion Lake Country Club, near Guangzhou on 28th-30th January. This is followed a month later, on 26th- 28th February, with International Qualifying at Sanya Luhuitou GC on Hainan Island.

Mid China Qualifying follows on 18th – 20th March at a venue yet to be arranged while the final event , North Qualifying, takes place at the new Aranya International GC at Qinghuandao.

Entries are open to both male and female professionals and low handicap amateurs. The South, Mid and North events are restricted to mainland Chinese citizens and the International event is specifically for non-mainland Chinese citizens. Although each field is restricted to 120 players, it’s predicted that the number of entries for each event will be the highest ever as increasing numbers of talented players emerge across China.

In 2012, Guan Tian-lang made big news by becoming the youngest ever, at 13, to qualify for a European Tour event.
